Skytyping:

Skytyping is the process of using 5 aircrafts flying 10,000ft in the air. Each aircraft emits special smoke during flights. The smoke is emitted in a dot matrix formation, which remains legible longer than traditional skywriting. The dot matrix creates characters. Those characters then form words and phrases. These words or phrases create what are called sky billboards.

The average time to skytype one of these characters the size of the Empire State Building is only four seconds! The hang time for a 5 mile long (20-25 character) Sky Billboard is three to seven minutes. That's a lot longer than a fifteen second TV commercial... or the average sign on the road read at 55 mph in 7 seconds!

Things you should know:
  • Flights generally take place over one geographical market
  • A single skytyping flight consists of 10 sky billboards
  • It takes about 90 minutes to skytype 10 sky billboards
  • Multiple languages available - (English, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, and more)
  • Recommended 20 characters maximum per sky billboard (Copy may vary with each sky billboard)

What is the difference between skytyping and skywriting?

Traditional skywriting is done with a single plane leaving a trail of smoke producing a single word or short (3-4 character) message as opposed to a team of planes using synched computers to "type out" multiple sky billboards. The dot matrix skytyped messages also last longer in the air by a few minutes than a normal skywriting character. The forms maintain integrity against the wind better.
